We started with one table
In 2019 we could not find a dining table that suited a Dubai villa, so we built one in a borrowed corner of an Al Quoz workshop. We still build it there.

Since 2019, Al Quoz
Ghaf & Grain is named after the ghaf, the tree that survives the desert by sending its roots deep. We try to make furniture the same way: slow to grow, hard to break and better with age.
The workshop
Four people, one long bench
Four people, one long bench and a lot of oil. Every table and bed we sell is cut, joined, sanded and finished by hand in Al Quoz, then checked by the person who will deliver it.
The makers
Eleven workshops we know by name
Our weavers are in Ras Al Khaimah, our potter is in Sharjah, our rugs come from a family workshop in Jaipur and our brass is spun in Moradabad. We visit every one of them each year, and we tell you where every piece is made.
